Update on Amy Goodman

Everyone may already be up to date on this (we here in the allegedly progressive Triangle don't get DN! on any local stations, so I am waiting for today's edition on the web)...but just in case you were wondering about Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman's arrest at the RNC, an update is available here.

Her producers, Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar, are facing felony riot charges, which is outrageous. I'll definitely be adding a "fuck the police" tag to this one.

Oh, and by the way: I'm back.

Welcome back! And my god, the Denver arrests have got nothing on the RNC. I seem to recall reading a few months back that the mayors of Minneapolis/St. Paul had promised to welcome protesters. If this is what they meant, I'd hate to see what they had planned if they weren't rolling out the welcome mat.

Fascists! Arresting Amy Goodman is like arresting a piece of furniture. Another victory in the war on terror! I'm glad we tempered people's right to peaceful protest, while allowing terror suspects to purchase AK-47s at gun shows w/o a background check. (No, not THAT AK47 folks.)

That video looked a lot like nazi germany--fucking disgusting.

Is it true that convention protesters always offer convention organizers a truce if they promise to spend all that extra security $$$ on social services? And then get refused? What is the matter with us?
