'Hoping for a big turnout tomorrow, en particulier from Hotlanta. Does Martin have a chance? (h/t to the proud UGA website for this necessary, not-at-all gratuitous pic.)

We really want Saxby out of there. Jesus, I don't even know what to say. It remains to be seen if the right votes will be out tomorrow -- Martin benefited the first time around from being on the ballot at the same time as Obama.
yeah, we need an obama-level turnout for it to be even close, i think.
good politico article on today's race:

let's go dekalb county!
I have spent the past week in GA. The money/political celebs that are pouring into the Chambliss campaign are substantial. I think the nat'l GOP is crazy worried about this one.
During the Georgia/GA-Tech game, I would say the ads were 4:1 Chambliss (mostly paid for by nat'l GOP and the US Chamber of Commerce), and extremely critical of Mertin. Did ya'll know he supports selling drugs near schools, for instance?
I think it would take a minor miracle to win this seat.
I think the biggest dick in the senate stays by 7+ points.

Dekalb County voted pro-Obama by a huge margin.
well, so much for that. - p
It wasn't even close. They're estimating that only about 20% of voters actually voted.
Now the question for me is why Obama didn't campaign here again for Martin. It would have helped a lot with the vote here.
Yeah, so much for that. There didn't seem to be as much momentum here as I would have liked.
E + Minx,
don't despair. voter turnout seems to always be absolute crap when it comes to runoffs, no?
it was an accomplishment that the Dem organization in the state pushed this thing to a runoff in the first place. and it could be the first step towards serious inroads in y'all's 2010 Congressional and State-level elections. all important shit.
