Conservative Health Care Talk--How to order a pizza after Obama Care

This really brought down the house at the Smart Sense Health Care town hall in Salem, last evening. I think you'll understand why...

And hell, who doesn't love taking a few shots at les vegetarians, no?

You know that was produced by the ACLU, right? I checked this out when one of my mother's many wingnut friends sent her the link. Seriously, WTF ACLU?

Hey, I'm a card carrying member of the ACLU. Let's keep it respectful, ok.

(seriously, really? Ok, I checked, really. But when? I know the state director and goddamn it if I'm not gonna ask her about this. Email sent, returning to comment)

I really can't get over all the wingnuts who are suddenly concerned about guv'mint surveillance.

At the ACLU site, if you follow their 'take action link' it goes to a petition opposing the Real ID law from back in ought five.

Oh, please don't get me wrong: I am certainly no ACLU hater! Far from it. I was just surprised/disappointed that something they produced--which, as you point out, could not possibly have been intended to be part of the HC debate--is being used in this way. Like I said, I heard about this from a certifiable "the ACLU is ruining this country" wingnut asshole (my mom's friend, not my mother!). It's safe to say he's probably never supported anything the ACLU's ever done. But now this campaign has become fodder for the other side's "critique," which is (to my mind) really unfortunate.

I actually think the original campaign against the real ID was pretty stupid in itself, but at least they aren't running an anti health care reform campaign.
