Ha! I had this post (with the lame running gag quip) planned since like 10 in the morning, so the fact that you perpetuated it helped make the quip even jokier. If it weren't for lame running gags, we'd have no running gags at all!
That said, if your elegant perpetuation was because you were on some psychiatric medication or because you like playing games, well, I'm not into that. I'm one of the only sane bloggers in DC, and my lame running gags are actually quite the catch. All your friends were envious that we kept perpetuating that lame running gag...
