We may get our progressive yet...

Latest dirt on the DoL search is centering on Harley Shaiken out of Berkeley. And I'm saying that a Shaiken nomination is definitely "not crap."

Here's Shaiken's 2007 House committee testimony in favor of the Employee Free Choice Act, and here's that testimony distilled down into an LA Times op-ed.

  2. First Read reports we'll also be getting another Republican in the cabinet, Rep. Ray Lahood (IL) for Sec. Trasportation.

"A source close to Lahood says not only did Obama and Lahood get to know and like each other in the Illinois delegation, but Rahm Emanuel played a big role in this selection."

  3. It seems like DoT is becoming the designated "bipartisan" cabinet slot - remember Norman Mineta, D from Cali, first Sec. of Transportation in the W. admin?
