judging by the rugby field and the 'Brick Lane E1' tag, that's a British video. it's probably more of 'popular' game on this side of the Atlantic... not just for rich people. that might explain the urban/ghetto aspect of it here.
do you have 'pitch and putt' in the US of A? and consequently young hoodlums walking the streets with metal clubs?
I remember a guy in my school who allegedly assaulted someone with a golf ball in a sock.
Hitting the links, as opposed to watching tv, will show that golf is a sport for just about anyone in the US as well. Especially at public courses where shirts are not required at all, let alone with collars. Hell in Eugene, most golfers are most likely drunk or stoned. Seeing EZ and I golfing together should dispel the notion that it is a rich man's sport.
It's not the "golf is for everyone!" vibe that I'm knocking - lord knows I've served my time on a golf course and wasn't physically removed from the premises.
Rather, it's the "extreme sport" treatment given to it. Skateboarding, kayaking, snowboarding, mountain or free-style biking, sure, go all quick-cut camera work with punk or hip-hop soundtrack. Golf tricks, not so much. They only things the video needs to make the full jump into absurdity are some sort of testicle injury and a stunt involving a shopping cart.
sick!
ReplyDeletewell, that's no ordinary golf...
