Crap/Not Crap

McCain's pick of Palin make concerns about his age and health legitimate talking points and lines of attack for the Dems.

I say "not crap."

  1. I say "crap." BUT, I say crap because I thought that they were legitimate to bring up before he picked Palin.

These are the same assholes that wore band-aids with tiny purple hearts at their convention four years ago making fun of a man who served and was injured in a war that their man essentially dodged by getting a cush flying gig that he couldn't even show up for because he was getting high on cocaine.

Not to mention the ad comparing Obama to Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton.

That being said, I think that Dems need to do it intelligently. Don't go straight after him, but just suggest that he is of the "old guard" or that Obama has "new ideas". Also - I think that they should make an issue out of McCains temper, sneaking it in like Obama did in his speech.

    Alright, enough rambling from me.

  2. What Mike said, except I'd expand on the point about legitimacy. We shouldn't elect old men to the presidency. The job is just too hard, and the realities of the physical and mental changes we undergo as we age is too stark.

I also call crap on the circular firing squad's recommendation that Dems shy away from criticizing Palin lest they be perceived as sexist.

  3. Meh, McCain's age is a moot point.

He'll prolly, if elected, have the same doctor as Cheney, who, we all know, subsists on evil and bionic parts surgically implanted by said doctor.

  4. i don't think hitting mccain for being an old man is what's gonna get us the white house.

obama needs to make this whole thing a referendum on the economy. that is the whole ballgame. it's not rocket science, but it will not be easy to fight the gop "big government" scare tactics. as put forth in The Nation, i believe that obama's victory can - and should - amount to a final, decisive defeat for the Reagan Era. may it burn in hell!
